Foo Fighters - Local Support Acts Announced


Having already sold nearly 250,000 tickets across its seven-date run, the countdown to FOO FIGHTERS' Australia/New Zealand stadium tour is hurtling by. With less than a month until the November 28 kick-off of the epic FOO FIGHTERS trek, The Frontier Touring Company have confirmed that guests TENACIOUS D and FUCKED UP will be complemented by an assortment of the most exciting bands to come out of Australia & New Zealand today: Calling All Cars, DZ Deathrays, Stonefield and Cairo Knife Fight!

As if tickets for these dates weren't scarce enough, the addition of this amazing roll call of homegrown talent to the once-in-a-lifetime bill of FOO FIGHTERS with TENACIOUS D and FUCKED UP makes this show a must-see for any and every music fan in Australia and New Zealand.

Firing up the crowd in Perth and Adelaide will be CALLING ALL CARS (http://www.callingallcars.net) whose latest album Dancing With A Dead Man (Shock) debuted in the Top 5 on the all-Australian ARIA album chart and boosted the rock band further into the spotlight.

After touring with AC/DC on their national 'Black Ice' tour and opening for Queens Of The Stone Age last year, Calling All Cars have proven they've got the chops to rock out with the best and are ready to take on Fucked Up, Tenacious D and Foo Fighters this Summer.

Brisbane thrash/party duo DZ DEATHRAYS (http://dzdeathrays.tumblr.com/) have had a massive year after releasing their Brutal Tapes EP in April (I Oh You)and since that point have simply have not stopped. This year the two friends have taken to stages across the world with acts like Band of Skulls, Cerebral Ballzy, Danananananaykroyd, S.C.U.M and many more.

Coupled with their relentless touring schedule the band have become much loved by media across the world have been touted as one of the most exciting up and comers by publications such as NME Magazine, Q Magazine and BBC1 plus many more. Ahead of their debut album release and appearances on Laneway Festival in 2011, DZ Deathrays will now join the Foo Fighters at Melbourne and Gold Coast shows this December

STONEFIELD (www.facebook.com/stonefieldband) will grace the Sydney Stage after a whirlwind year that has seen them conquer Glastonbury and LA's famous Roxy Club alongside shows with Kaiser Chiefs, Cold Chisel, Jebediah.

Sisters Amy, Hannah, Sarah and Holly Findlay are celebrating their incredible EP Through The Clover (Warner) which has taken them far beyond their hometown of Darraweit Guim. After a year like this, what better way to top off 2011 than by joining the Foo Fighters at Sydney Football Stadium!

New Zealand's very own CAIRO KNIFE FIGHT (www.cairoknifefight.com) is the forceful hard-rock duo of drummer/vocalist Nick Gaffaney and guitarist Aaron Tokona. Cairo Knife Fight will set the scene for Foo Fighters' Western Springs show.

Fast becoming NZ's premier live act, Cairo Knife Fight channel the likes of Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin whilst conjuring their trademark grunty and virtuosic edge. The duo released their 2nd EP II (Liberation Music) in August and these Best Rock Album nominees (VNZMA 2011) are guaranteed to start the show off with a bang!

Foo Fighters' #1 Australian album Wasting Light featuring 'Rope', 'Walk' and current single 'Arlandria' is fast approaching double platinum status, cementing their reputation as bonafide rock n roll royalty.
