Latest Ivy League Records signing Lanie Lane has recently returned from Nashville, Tennessee where she recorded two tracks with Jack White. The songs are to be released on 7” as part of the Blue Series, an initiative of White's Third Man Records that sees White produce songs in the Third Man Studio then make them available on vinyl and through iTunes on his label.
Lanie Lane's Blue Series single will be available on August 23, and will feature two diversely different tracks, a fuzz bass sassed stomp number, 'Ain't Hungry' and a wailing waltzing lament to withheld love, 'My Man'.
Says Lane of the experience working with Jack White: "It was an honour to be asked by Jack to record with him at Third Man. I was so inspired by the whole process and by how by raw and instinctively everything happened. I got so much out of the experience and I'm very proud of the end result."
'Ain't Hungry' will be taken to radio in Australia on August 8. In the meantime, catch the beguiling Lanie Lane this weekend at the Splendour In The Grass festival, where she'll be opening the GW McLennan Tent at 11am on Saturday July 30.
